It provides access to a range of photo galleries – some
stored here on our site, some by means of external links to photo collections, such
as Fotopic collections, and some by means of external links to video clips such
as those on YouTube.

Peter Hudson:
Quite out of the blue, we received a CD a few years back with twelve remarkable
images taken by a passenger on the ‘Caerwent Cannonball’ which paid a visit to
Furnace Sidings in 1980. The passenger
was Peter Hudson. They have been posted
to this site, and viewing is highly recommended. To view press HERE
Arthur Llewellyn:
Member Arthur Llewellyn is an able and prolific photographer, who, fortunately
for all of us, took a large number of colour photographs mainly in the early
seventies, but some both earlier (in monochrome), and later. He rode on several railtours (including the
same tour as Peter Hudson), but concentrated his efforts on the industrial
scene, particularly in Blaenavon. His
slides and photographs were scanned. In some scans, the scanner has developed a
fault so that the image is more or less useless, however we include them here,
both as a placeholder, and in case they are of limited use to someone.
In
due course we shall try and rescan the damaged images. One or two of the darker images have been
gamma corrected, but this has been undertaken spasmodically, and in time we
shall try and correct those that remain rather dark. We have yet to caption the images, again, give
us time. There are three volumes. The first contains almost 150 images, the
second and third about 36 images each.
Arthur has more images, and we will try and invest in a decent slide
scanner, before we try and upload them here.
All of the images are reduced in resolution to enable efficient use of
memory and to reduce download times, however, if there is a particular image
that you’d like to examine in fine detail an email to .
